The situation

Thirty-two country organizations each ran their own customer and product masters. Duplicate retailer records broke promotion settlements. Inconsistent product hierarchies meant global brand teams couldn't see true performance of a SKU across markets. Working capital sat trapped in reconciliation disputes with trade partners.

How we delivered

  1. 01 Global data council chartered up front — sponsorship from CFO and Chief Commercial Officer, with country-GM accountability for data-steward resourcing.
  2. 02 Implemented Informatica IDMC MDM across customer, product, and supplier domains in sequence, each with a 6-month deliverable and measurable KPI commitment.
  3. 03 Built market-by-market rollout accelerator: pre-built mappings for SAP ECC, SAP S/4, Salesforce, and regional ERPs; automated match-rule tuning; exception-handling workflow pre-loaded for stewards.
  4. 04 Ran a "fix at source" program in parallel — every golden-record conflict flagged upstream so the next month's data landed cleaner.

Informatica IDMC as the system of reference for customer, product, and supplier. Source hubs (SAP ECC, S/4HANA, Salesforce, regional ERPs) integrate via CAI and CDI. Data quality rules authored in Informatica Cloud Data Quality, reference data managed in Informatica Reference 360. Stewardship via the IDMC Customer 360 and Product 360 apps. Downstream syndication to Snowflake for analytics and to Stibo STEP for PIM-side product enrichment. Reltio explored and deferred in favor of IDMC given existing Informatica footprint.
